Honda reduces price on Honda Fit EV lease

A reduction has been long anticipated, and now it’s official. Starting June 1st, the Honda Fit EV lease will be $259 per month rather than the previous $389 per month to better compete with the new electric vehicles in the marketplace. Both prices are based on $0 down and a 36 month lease.

In addition to lowering the lease payments, Honda announced it will be removing the 12,000 mile per year restriction and allowing unlimited miles. While any EV manufacturer can offer low lease payments, Honda has no plan for these vehicles after the booking sale itself, so how much wear and tear the vehicles get does not concern them.

Honda has generously announced that current Honda Fit EV lease holders will also receive the $130 monthly discount going forward.

“Beginning in June, subject to your agreement, your monthly Honda Fit EV lease payment will be reduced from $389 per month to $259 per month (plus tax) for the remainder of your lease.”

The Honda Fit EV lease also includes collision insurance, as well as a 240 volt EV home charging station.

Currently, only 161 of Honda’s planned 1100 Fit EVs have sold in the 10 months it’s been on the market, which meant it would take Honda 5 more years to sell the number they think they need to meet CARB requirements. Originally only planned for California and Oregon, the Fit EV is now available in east coast Carb states like Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, New York, and New Jersey.

    1. Unlikely it ever will be, unless Canada starts putting CARB-like requirements in place, forcing automakers to sell a certain number of full electric vehicles in order to continue selling gasoline powered vehicles. The Honda Fit EV is only available in CARB states like California and Oregon.
