The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is the first plug-in hybrid SUV in the market. Sales began in Japan in January 2013, and the Outlander PHEV is set to go on sale in Europe in July 2013. The introduction into North America is scheduled for January 2014. Powered by a 2.0liter gasoline engine and an electric powertrain derived from the Mitsubishi i-Miev, the Outlander PHEV has an all-electric range of 37 miles.
