FedEx testing Nissan e-NV200 electric vehicle

FedEx and Nissan will be carrying out real world tests of their Nissan e-NV200 all electric van in Yokohama. The e-NV200 is the 100% electric version of Nissan’s NV200 van. The electric powertrain is based on the powertrain that Nissan uses in it’s Leaf electric vehicle.

Fedex will be using the Nissan e-NV200 for 1 month to evaluate the electric van’s potential of being used for international air cargo delivery. FedEx did a previous test with the e-NV200 with Nissan in Europe last winter – we aren’t sure what FedEx forgot to learn last time that they need to do another test? Perhaps Nissan updated software or made other changes to the e-NV200 that made FedEx want to take another crack at it.

Other companies have also tested the Nissan e-NV200 including Aeon Retail and British Gas.

Still no word from Nissan on when we can expect the Nissan e-NV200 to be for sale in North America.
