Volkswagen E-Golf has range of 118 miles

At the Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen has unveiled the 2015 e-Golf electric vehicle in production form. The e-Golf uses a 24.2 kWh lithium ion battery pack to provide up to 118 miles of range according to Volkswagen.

The Volkswagen e-Golf is an internal affair – all of the components, including the 144 hp electric motor and battery pack, will all be built in house at the Kassel Components Factory in Germany.

With a drag coefficient rated at 0.28 and four levels of regenerative braking, the e-Golf can do 0-62 mph in 10.4 seconds and has a top speed of 87 mph. It takes 13 hours to recharge on a standard 220 Volt plug, or as little as 8 hours with an optional wall charger.

Set to launch in Europe in Spring of 2014, the Volkswagen e-Golf will arrive in the US later in 2014, or perhaps in early 2015.

No e-Golf pricing information was given.
