Chevy Spark EV as low as $19,995 after incentives

Chevrolet announced pricing for the Chevy Spark EV today. The new 2013 Spark EV 1lt has an MSRP of $27,495 before tax incentives. After the full $7500 federal tax credit, the total price is $19,995 which includes the $810 destination freight charge.

The pricing announcement puts the Chevy Spark EV almost $1000 cheaper than the 2013 Nissan Leaf entry model that is priced at $28,800.

If leasing is more your thing, the Spark EV can be leased for $199 a month on a 36 month term, with $999 down. Those are the exact costs of the Fiat 500e lease deal, and the same monthly costs of the Nissan Leaf lease (although the Nissan Leaf has a $1999 down payment).

The Spark EV lease is a low-mileage lease – if you drive more than 12,000 miles per year, each extra mile will cost you $0.25.

Chevrolet has told us time and again that the Spark EV is not a compliance electric vehicle, but for the time being, it will be launched in mid-June in California and Oregon.

“The Chevrolet Spark EV is the most efficient – and now one of the most affordable – EVs you can buy” said Chris Perry, vice president, Chevrolet Marketing. “Combined with outstanding infotainment and great design, the fun-to-drive Spark EV is engineered to impress.”
