The BMW i8 plug-in hybrid sports coupe is expected to have a 1.5 liter 3 cylinder engine driving the rear wheel sand an electric motor driving the front wheels. Combined output power is predicted to be just under 400 horsepower and just over 400 lb-ft of torque.
There are estimates that the BMW i8 will get 20 miles of pure electric range and a 0-60 mph time of under 5 seconds.
From what we can see in the spy photos, it looks like the BMW i8 has lost the butterfly doors. It also looks like the grill has been opened up a little bit and the door handles have moved to an opening behind the door.
