27 Chevy Spark EV sales in first month

Starting on June 19th with the first Chevrolet Spark electric vehicle sold, the automaker managed 27 sales before the end of the month. GM shipped about 75 units to dealers before the end of the month, so 27 sales is quite high.

Compared to the Smart Electric Drive, which sold 60 in its debut month (more days total as it was released at the start of the month), the sales don’t seem great, but it sold more than the Ford Focus Electric, Nissan Leaf, Tesla Model S and Honda Fit EV in their first months.

While only available in California and Oregon for now (Chevy insists it isn’t a compliance vehicle), the Spark EV is priced at $27,495. The EPA has rated the compact electric vehicle at having an all-electric range of 82 miles, and efficiency of 119MPGe combined.
