BMW releases new video of BMW i3, BMW i8

BMW has released a short video to help remind us of the up and coming BMW i8 plug-in hybrid sports car, and the BMW i3 electric vehicle.

The video is dramatic, but doesn’t really tell us anything new about the vehicles. The video even re-uses some footage shown last July of the BMW i8 and BMW i3 electric vehicles at the Chicago Auto Show last July.

The BMW i3 is a small city car that will be 100% electric, although BMW has mentioned it may also release a plug-in hybrid version with a similar but less powerful drive train than it’s larger sibling, the BMW i8.

The BMW i3 electric will be available in 2014, and BMW is taking steps to keep the overall cost of the BMW i3 around $35,000 for a 100% electric version. The BMW i8 will be much more expensive – but BMW hasn’t mentioned a price point yet.
