Set to be revealed in November at the Los Angeles motor show, Kia has confirmed the 2020 Soul EV will be completely redesigned. The compact crossover will arrive in the second half of 2019, and while in North America gasoline powered options will be available, in the UK only the Soul EV will go on sale.
The redesigned Soul EV’s powertrain will use parts from the Kia e-Niro, but will only come with the smaller 39 kWh battery size with the 64 kWh pack size exclusively offered in the Niro EV.
The range should be close to 200 miles, and the price will be less than the e-Niro, which is around £30,000 in the UK.
An undeniable automotive icon will make its world debut at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. The instantly recognizable Soul Crossover is all new for 2020 and will come to market with awesome versatility for everyone. Its bold design, uncompromising utility and fun-to-drive personality will be highlighted through the availability of several drivetrains, including turbocharged and “gas-free” electric(1) options. The all-new Soul Crossover is set to go on sale next year.
Slightly disappointing is that Kia also hints that the 2020 Soul EV will be available in ‘select markets’ with limited availability. Expect the Soul EV to only be available in CARB states in late 2019.
