Spy photographers have spotted the BMW i3 electric vehicle cold winter testing in Norway. Last time the BMW i3 was spotted, it was using a 600cc range extending engine back in November 2011. The range extended model is being dubbed the BMW i3 REx. Note the super skinny tires – perhaps for low rolling resistance, or perhaps those are the winter tires everyone in Norway uses?
Comparing this BMW i3 to the REx, they look the same, which is a good indication that BMW is full steam ahead at not just providing an all electric BMW i3, but also offering one with the range extending engineas an option.
BMW is still slating to launch the BMW i3 in 2013 with the BMW i3 REx coming sometime shortly after.
